The Ctenanthe is a plant native to tropical Central and South America. The plant is related to the Calathea, and has the same nice feature that the plant pulls up its leaves in the evening.
This means that during the day you can see the nice striped top of the leaf, and when it gets dark the nice purple underside. So don't be alarmed if you hear some rustling in the evening: these are leaves sliding past each other!

2. Chamadorea Elegance

The Chamaedorea elegans, also known as the Mexican dwarf palm, are native to the rainforest of southern Mexico and Guatemala. With a growth of up to 50 cm per year, this is the ideal indoor palm.
It has been a popular roommate for years because it is easy to maintain. It has elegant green leaves that give a real tropical look.
